Original Astronaut Space Pen, Black Titanium Nitride (#AG7-BTN)
The Fisher Astronaut Pen model #AG7-BTN is an old classic with a stylish new look. Fisher has taken the time-tested AG7 Original Astronaut Space Pen and plated it in sleek black titanium nitride, increasing its resistance to scratching and giving it an intriguing, somewhat stealthy appearance.
This is the same model pen that was used on the Apollo 7 space mission in 1968 after two years of testing by NASA and has been used on all manned space flights since then! The overall design and construction of this pen has not changed in over 50 years, and the pen you buy today will be the same as the one taken to the moon back in 1968. A truly unique piece of space history.
The Fisher Astronaut Pen is made from solid brass with an extremely hard chrome plating; it is a heavy pen, with the weight resting reassuringly in your hand as you write. It has a very positive and substantial feeling click mechanism, with a plunger on the top for extending the refill, as well as a unique side release button to retract it. Its special design helps to ensure that you will always remember to retract the point before you slide it back into your pocket.
Our Astronaut Pens are attractively packaged in heavy duty gift boxes with flock lining and each comes with a pamphlet describing the history of the Fisher Space Pen. All Astronaut Pens are constructed with brass and steel components of the highest quality, and all are proudly made in the USA.
