The M4G Cap-O-Matic Space Pen presents the Cap-O-Matic mechanism in a lacquered brass finish, a clear lacquer coat over a brass body that preserves the warm metallic tone of the material while protecting it from tarnishing. Single-hand cap activation: press the cap to extend; press again to retract. Length: 5.375 inches. Fitted with a Fisher Pressurized PR4 refill, black ink, medium point. The pen ships in gift packaging, as can be seen in the images.

The Fisher pressurised refill writes at any angle, upside down, underwater, through grease, and in temperatures from -35°C to +121°C (-30°F to +250°F), on almost any surface. The Cap-O-Matic mechanism, press to extend, press to retract, requires no separate cap removal and suits one-handed operation.
The lacquered brass on the M4G differs from the raw brass of the .338 and .375 Cartridge pens in a specific way: the lacquer seals the surface, preventing the oxidation and patina development that characterises unlacquered brass. The tone is fixed at the warm gold of freshly worked brass. This suits users who want the warmth of brass without the maintenance of a metal that changes. The clear lacquer coat is transparent, the brass grain and colour are visible, not covered. Over time, under heavy use, the lacquer can develop fine surface marks, which is characteristic of lacquered metals in daily carry.
